Chrono is a video game series published by Square Enix. The series' creators were Hironobu Sakaguchi, Yuji Horii and Akira Toriyama who created Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Dragon Ball respectively. The first game is a 1995 Super Nintendo JPRG called Chrono Trigger that spans multiple time periods and features a real-time battle system. The game received two sequels in the form of Radical Dreamers and Chrono Cross.

Chrono Trigger follows Crono as he aims to defeat the cosmic parasite Lavos. Crono begins his journey in AD 1000 but soon travels time, building a diverse party of characters. Each character has a unique series of abilities which can be combined in battle to form new attacks. Each time period also brings a new setting and scenario with a host of side characters and villains.

In addition to the games, a 20-minute OVA was featured at a Japanese trade show during the 90's. The anime has no relation to the games aside from cameos by the heroes and several monsters.

Kiwala coaches Nu as he participates in a drinking competition to win a golden shovel. After Nu cannot drink any more, Kiwala plugs a SNES controller into Nu and uses his "secret A-button barrage" to win the competition.

A megasaur is seen facing off against Nu in the final round.

Later, a drink-filled Nu relieves himself in a bush.
